Standardizing Quality of life measures in Obesity Treatment
The S.Q.O.T. initiative was established to Standardize Quality of life measures in Obesity Treatment.
Our non-profit organization is the result of an international collaboration of people living with obesity and healthcare professionals working in the field of obesity. We aim to achieve a global consensus on the key components of Quality of Life in the treatment of obesity and the preferred Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) to capture this information.
To achieve this goal, we organized international interdisciplinary consensus meetings on PROMs in obesity treatment, bringing together people living with obesity and healthcare providers. These efforts resulted in the creation of two standardized sets of PROMs:
-
A core set to measure quality of life in research.
-
A core set to measure quality of life in clinical practice.
Our next meeting will focus on developing a core set to measure quality of life in registries.
